The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides lunches to more than 3 million Texas children in schools and residential child care institutions. Families who qualify can receive free or reduced-priced meals for their students during the upcoming school year.

Completing the Free & Reduced Meal Application is about more than just meals—it gives your family access to vital resources and helps your school support every student’s learning. Applications can affect school funding and performance ratings, so every submission counts. Act now to make sure your family and your child’s school don’t miss out!

By completing the application, your family may qualify for:

  • Internet Access Assistance – Help in securing low-cost internet services for your home
  • Meals – In addition to school meals currently provided for all students by federal funding, your child may qualify for food to take home for the weekend from the Concho Valley Regional Food Bank’s Food2Kids backpack program.
  • Lower Fees for Student Testing – Reduced rates for registration fees for Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and college prep tests like SAT and ACT
  • Lower College Applications Fees - Reduced costs for student college application fees to support your child’s future
  • Additional Resources for Schools – Funds to support materials for your child’s school like Chromebooks, iPads, hotspots for internet service, and take-home to read book packs

How to Apply:

  • Online: Apply online at the SchoolCafé website at www.schoolcafe.com/SanAngeloISD
  • Mobile App:  The SchoolCafé mobile app is available for iPhone and Android
  • Paper: Pick up an application at your child’s campus or the Child Nutrition office

Applications are all available in both English and Spanish.

Important Notes:

  • If you don’t already have a SchoolCafé account, you will need to create one to complete the application.
  • Only one application needs to be completed per household. 
  • If your household has already completed an application or received benefits this school year, you do not need to apply again.
  • All information is kept confidential.
