United We Read and San Angelo READS! Celebrate Second-Grade Book Giveaway

Last month, nearly 900 second-grade students across San Angelo ISD celebrated literacy and the power of kindness during the United Way of the Concho Valley’s United We Read event. The celebration featured a special reading of "Superbuns!" by Diane Kredensor, presented by Ashley Ammons, United Way of the Concho Valley President and CEO, at Glenmore Elementary.

Circle of Life Bike Tour Inspires Students at Lake View HS

On November 6, a team of a dozen cyclists from the Lone Star Circle of Life Bike Tour pulled into Lake View High School, bringing a powerful message — that each of us has the opportunity to give life. The week-long tour spans West Texas, raising awareness about the importance of blood, marrow and stem-cell, organ, and tissue donation.

Atmos Energy and San Angelo READS! Celebrate First-Grade Book Giveaway

Atmos Energy, San Angelo READS! and first-grade students at Holiman Elementary School celebrated literacy and the love of reading with a book giveaway and a read-aloud of "I Hate to Be Sick” by Aamir Lee Bermiss. Last month, every first-grade student in San Angelo ISD received a copy of the book, generously provided by Atmos Energy.
